Prof. Dr. Emir Baki Denkbas
Emir Baki Denkbas is a Professor in chemistry department (Biochemistry Division) and a director of Advanced Technologies Applications and Research Center, HUNITEK, at Hacettepe University (HU). He is lecturer in the department of bioengineering as well.
His research is based on polymer technology to produce polymeric materials and modification of their surface by different methods (chemically, biologically, plasma etc.). He is also preparing polymeric biomaterials for culture studies and biodegradable polymeric microspheres for controlled drug release applications, in vitro and in vivo. In addition, his laboratory is equipped for tissue culture engineering and nanobiotechnology, preparation and characterization of nanocarriers for gene and cancer therapy, applications. He is an author on 98 SCI journal articles, 18 books/book chapters and a reviewer in 20 journals. He has been cited almost 1544 times and has an H-index of 22. He has managed more than 20 research projects as the director which supported by Hacettepe University, TUBITAK and Ministry of Development. Prof. Denkbas is also a founder member of “Turkish Controlled Release Society”.
